The Forgotten Trail - Unreal Engine 5.7.4 (Lumen)

Inspired by horror games and thrillers, I decided to create this location to finally bring my dream to life. I wanted to see if I could build a truly terrifying world from scratch, and this project is my first big step toward that goal.

Cinematic (UE5 Lumen)

I used a custom texture mask (heightmap) to create the landscape. This allowed me to get a specific terrain shape that perfectly fits the mood and layout of the village.

Placed all the wooden houses and key buildings along the path.

I used PCG system to scatter trees, grass, and tiny debris like rocks, twigs, and fallen leaves. This helped to fill the world quickly and realistically.

Set up the dynamic lighting, shadows, and exponential height fog to build the core mysterious mood. Every house, tree, and prop was carefully selected to make sure it matches the creepy and scary atmosphere.

Before starting, I gathered a collection of references, especially images of abandoned houses and dark paths in dense fog. This helped me plan the layout, choose the right assets, and capture that exact creepy horror mood.
